14. Singer-Songwriter Festival Frutigen
Texas, Tennessee, Louisiana, Oklahoma...
Long-time european fans of american roots music consider this world as if it were the most natural thing in the world and often they are more familiar with it than their native cultural posessions - perhaps nurtuded by fair amount of wanderlust now and then. The USA seems to have an inexhaustible reservoir of talented persons and each year some of them come as a surprise to us. it is ASCHI MAURER and his team who, far as long as 14 years, makes every possible effort to let us discover live on stage so many of these artists and legends over in German-speaking Europe.
However, giving a name to this event was not too easy.
Singer/Songwriter? Roots music? Country? Country-rock? Or maybe even black influences llike blues or soul? Or second-line rhythms from New Orleans? Actually, no matter how it is pigeon-holed, the only thing that counts is the QUALITY of music wich is outstanding at the singer-Songwriter Festival!!!
